We Do! We Do! by Cynthia MacGregor

This book is full of wedding ceremonies including not only ceremonies for a typical bride and groom but some for special circumstances, such as a ceremony including children from a previous marriage, a civil (non-religious) ceremony, a ceremony for a gay couple, a ceremony of commitment that isn't a legally binding wedding, a renewal of vows, and much more.

Not everyone wants the clergyperson or other officiant to provide a standard wedding ceremony, yet not everyone is able to script their own. Here’s the answer: A book full of wedding ceremonies including not only ceremonies for a typical bride and groom but some for special circumstances, such as a ceremony including children from a previous marriage, a civil (non-religious) ceremony, a ceremony for a gay couple, a ceremony of commitment that isn’t a legally binding wedding, a renewal of vows, and much more.

Marriage is a sacred promise, a promise to love and trust and share. A promise to hold each other above all others in this world. We are gathered here today to unite two people in love, who wish to pledge themselves to each other, _____ and _____, and in so doing create a new unit—a bonded pair of committed lovers, a couple, a family.

Out of this ceremony today will come a new entity that is more than just two people united as one, for when two people love each other and pledge their trust and faith and fidelity, the sum of one and one is not two. It is one, one couple formed of the individuals, made stronger in faith and love and hope and promise.
